Release

Beaumont, TX, July 17, 2006 - The Better Business Bureau of Southeast Texas is proud to announce that our first “Shred It & Forget It” was a tremendous success! We served 249 vehicles in three and a half hours and collected 16,080 pounds of shredded documents. The event, which was held on Saturday, July 15, 2006 in the Parkdale Mall parking lot, was an effort to reduce identity theft. The BBB thanks Shred-It, ArmorShred, Texas Marine, J.K. Chevrolet-Isuzu, Bill Clark Pest Control, MCT Credit Union, Beaumont Coca-Cola, Wal-mart, Three Rivers Council-Boy Scouts of America, and Parkdale Mall for their help in making this event possible.
AND, because of the huge success, we are making plans to bring “Shred It & Forget It” to Central Mall the first of next year, and then on to the Liberty-Dayton and Jasper areas. The BBB continues to stress the importance to shred your confidential documents; when improperly disposed of, it can lead to identity theft. For more information, contact Debbie Wylde-Bridgeman at 409/835-5951, Ext. 117 or media@bbbsetexas.org.
